What is a Fruit?

According to botanist who studies plants, a fruit is a part of plant that develops from a flower. But commonly, fruits are important sources of vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates like fiber and sugar. There are different kinds of fruits and each contains different vitamins which are needed for a healthy living.

For example citrus fruits like oranges and grapes contain vitamin C whereas apricots and peaches are a good source of vitamin A and that is the reason it is recommended to eat all the varieties of fruits. Some fruits contain high calories while some contain low calories but they are higher in fiber. To put it in a nut shell, fruits contain several vitamins and minerals including antioxidants which are much needed to live a healthy and happy life.
